The Inspiration Lab ®
WHAT INSPIRED
After participating in real estate conferences around the country, Stephanie Lanier began to long for events where women could speak about more personal matters. She was curious about how women were blending their work, families, and passions together.
She wanted insight on how to grow as a mother (and as a caregiver of a medically fragile child), how to be a better leader at a growing company (without an MBA), and how to squeeze in self-care. She also wanted to find a community of like-minded women who were there to support one another through the good and the bad.
Stephanie noticed that when women were together in a safe and authentic environment, their conversations were real and transformative. She wondered if that intimacy and inspiration could be replicated through occasional meetups, and that is how the idea for The Inspiration Lab was born.
The Inspiration Lab has evolved and grown since its first luncheon in 2015. Through year-round programming and an annual conference, we are proud to provide a space where women can pursue more manageable and meaningful lives.

Stephanie Lanier OUR FOUNDER
Stephanie Lanier is the leader of Lanier Property Group, an award-winning real estate team at Intracoastal Realty in Wilmington, North Carolina. She has been a Realtor for over 12 years and has closed hundreds of transactions, working with residential and commercial clients in Southeastern, NC. She is a winner of the Cape Fear Realtors Salesperson of the Year in 2021. The North Carolina Association of Realtors named Stephanie their 2022 Innovation & Entrepreneurial Excellence Award winner. She was named to Wilmington’s Power 100 list by the Greater Wilmington Business Journal three times and has received the Cape Fear CREW Award of Excellence for her dedication to advancing the careers of women in real estate. Since 2020, Stephanie has been annually selected as one of America’s Top 100 Real Estate Agents in North Carolina. She was previously chosen as one of Wilmington’s Most Intriguing People and voted Best Real Estate Agent by the Wilmington StarNews. She was also named to StarNews Media’s inaugural “40 Under 40” list in 2019. Her team, Lanier Property Group was named to the Real Trends list of the top 1.5% of agents in the country and #30 for North Carolina. They consistently are a top 10 team in the tri-county region.
Stephanie was the Chair of the Board of Directors for the Wilmington Chamber of Commerce in 2023 and in 2024 will begin her role as Chair of the Wilmington Chamber of Commerce’s Foundation Board of Directors. She also serves on the Good Shepherd Center's Home for Good Advisory Council and UNCW’s College of Health and Human Services Advisory Committee. She is a member of Cape Fear (CREW) Commercial Real Estate Women and is a proud alumni of Leadership Wilmington and Leadership NC. She holds undergraduate and graduate degrees from the University of North Carolina Wilmington. In addition to her real estate business, Stephanie founded The Inspiration Lab, which provides teaching, tools, and opportunities for connections for working women. The Inspiration Lab Podcast has released over 50 episodes and has been featured by Wilma magazine.
As a parent of a child with special needs and autism and a former social worker, Stephanie is a passionate advocate for individuals with diverse abilities. Stephanie grew up in Concord, NC and came to Wilmington in 2000 and has never left, she’s a true Carolina girl and has spent more time on the coast now than anywhere else. When she isn’t leading her businesses, you can find her volunteering with charities close to her heart, buried in a pile of books, taking a pilates class, or hosting Sunday suppers with the grandparents at her house.
Lisa Barrett COMMUNITY MANAGER
Originally from upstate New York, Lisa Barrett attended American University in Washington, D.C., where she received her B.A. in political science and M.A. in applied politics. After working in the political world for more than a decade, Lisa left professional politics behind and moved to Wilmington, North Carolina, in 2017.
Why Wilmington? Due to her love of "Dawson's Creek," Lisa regularly visited the city for some downtime while working in the D.C. area. She decided to relocate to Wilmington permanently after she met her future husband, Steven, at one of the show’s filming locations, Hell's Kitchen, while watching a Washington Capitals hockey game.
Lisa and Steven married in 2019. Their daughter, Elizabeth was born in 2020, and she’s been a fan of Taylor Swift and “Gilmore Girls” since birth. In other words, she is definitely her mother’s daughter. Most recently, they welcomed a sweet little boy named Alex.
Lisa joined The Inspiration Lab in 2019. She ensures everyone has access to all of the events, resources, and tools The Inspiration Lab has to offer.
Lisa is also founder Stephanie Lanier’s executive assistant for Lanier Property Group, which is a top-producing real estate team with Intracoastal Realty. While she is not an active real estate agent, Lisa did complete all her pre- and post-licensing requirements in 2020.
During her free time, Lisa enjoys strolling around downtown Wilmington with her family and visiting various “Dawson’s Creek” filming locations.

Kaitlin Mozingo

Kaitlin was a supporter well before she joined The Inspi Lab’s work family. Back in November 2019, Kaitlin attended our annual conference and left feeling, well, inspired. She walked away with a hope and a dream of one day working with Inspiration Lab founder Stephanie Lanier.
Then in December 2020, on a whim, Kaitlin responded to one of Stephanie’s Inspiration Lab newsletters. She mentioned she was really happy at her current job, but if Stephanie was ever hiring, she’d love to know about the opportunity. Unbeknownst to Kailtin, a new job posting was already in draft form and soon to be released.
When the job listing was shared publicly, Kaitlin jumped at the chance to apply. After many, many interviews, Kaitlin accepted the position of Marketing & Systems Coordinator for The Inspiration Lab and Lanier Property Group, Stephanie’s team at Intracoastal Realty.
Kaitlin’s seven years of experience in marketing with one of our area’s top new home builders made her a great fit for The Inspiration Lab’s needs. In her prior job, she helped coordinate large (and small) events and also assisted with implementing consistent systems within the company, allowing them to seamlessly grow. We now look forward to seeing the positive impacts she will no doubt have on The Inspiration Lab and LPG.
Kaitlin is married to her wonderful husband, Jesse, and is a devoted mom to two young children. The Inspiration Lab’s teachings about self-care being strategic, finding a work-life rhythm that is sustainable, and wrapping your goals in grace have really resonated with her. She loves The Inspiration Lab’s mission to be a soft place to land and a strong place to launch, and Kaitlin can’t wait to help spread this message to more women in the years to come.
When she isn’t working, you can find Kaitlin spending time with her family, listening to live music, celebrating her Irish heritage, and enjoying being on the water.
