Updated: Oct 7, 2021

Autism, Education, and How You Can Better Advocate for Your Child and Others with Angela Pollock

As we continue our caregiving series, Stephanie is joined by Angela Pollock to discuss autism, what the school system is like for children with disabilities and their parents, and to share some of their experiences as a parent and an educator of children with autism.

Angela is the creator of the "I Am Beautiful Fashion Show," which was created to highlight the beauty and confidence in us all, but specifically giving the spotlight to those with disabilities of all ages. She started her career in the public school system as a special educator, and is now the Head of School at SEA Academy, a program with OASIS NC, which is a nonprofit that provides a variety of programming to those with autism, ADHD, and anxiety. She is also a founding member of the Cape Fear Enrichment Program, a nonprofit that provides real life opportunities to adults with disabilities.
