What Pediatric Palliative Care Really Is and How It May Benefit Your Child with Nicole Sartor

As we continue our caregiving series, Stephanie is joined by Nicole Sartor, the Children's Supportive Care Team Coordinator at the University of North Carolina Children's Hospital. Nicole coordinates and co-leads the inpatient pediatric palliative care consult service and is a regional pediatric palliative care resource who supports community pediatric palliative and hospice care programs throughout North Carolina, so she discusses with Stephanie what pediatric palliative care actually is, how it doesn't always mean end-of-life care, and why having a pediatric palliative care team may actually benefit your sick child and your family. This conversation sheds a lot of light on some of the resources that are actually available to children and their families, in the hope of giving you a more comprehensive view of your options.
