JUNE 19 & 26

Personal Branding 101

Join us for our first-ever Personal Branding Course. The Inspiration Lab founder Stephanie Lanier will lead this two-session workshop, sharing her top secrets for building a personal brand that is both affordable and attainable!

Are you ready to step into the spotlight?

You can’t do it without a solid brand. And while many of the actions needed to build a recognizable personal brand are free, if you don't have an overall strategy to implement your brand, you won’t get noticed. The world is noisy, and if attention is the new currency, you need a plan to get results. It isn’t enough to stand out anymore — you need to provide value to the people who are giving you their attention or that spotlight will fade fast.

The purpose of The Inspiration Lab’s Personal Branding 101 course is to help women gain recognition and awareness in their current market, open up opportunities for them to share their stories, give them affordable tools to establish and strengthen their brand, and leave them with a road map for future success and continued growth.

To be clear, this isn't about silly stunts, viral videos, or five minutes of fame. This is an in-depth course designed to teach you how to methodically (and patiently, because this doesn’t happen overnight) develop your personal brand.

Clarify your personal brand in two days, create a strategy that works to get you noticed, and learn how to stand out while everyone else is blending in.

Here's what you'll get!

Including real-world examples and tons of resources for further learning from the comfort of your home or office!

  • Guide for writing award nominations for yourself or someone else

  •  Personal branding questionnaire to help you gain clarity on what sets your brand apart

  • How-to for creating your short and long bios as well as a résumé and fact sheet

We want to make sure you don't miss a thing. A replay will be sent to your inbox 48 hours after event completion — available to watch for two weeks!

Stephanie Lanier

This workshop will be taught by Stephanie Lanier, based on her own experience successfully running Lanier Property Group and The Inspiration Lab and on her studies of fellow successful and well-known women from Wilmington and beyond. Unlike impersonal teaching from a marketing agency or vendor, here you’ll be learning from a peer, a woman who has and will continue to be with you on the journey. She’ll share relatable stories and examples of things that worked, mistakes she’s made (and doesn’t want you to repeat), and secrets to standing out in very competitive industries.

You might be thinking: Who needs a personal brand?

Anyone who dreams of writing a book and having an audience to buy and read it.

Anyone who wants to be a thought leader in their industry.

Anyone who wants to earn opportunities to be featured in the media, from print to radio to TV pieces.

Anyone in a competitive sales position where you need to generate clients consistently, such as real estate agents, insurance agents, financial planners, graphic designers, wedding industry vendors, medical professionals and sales reps, company owners and leaders, etc.

Anyone who has a message they want to share at scale.

Anyone who wants to be a public speaker and bring their unique message to the world.

Anyone who needs to stand out from the noise (or their competitors) in our fast-moving digital era.

That sounds like me!

What you'll walk away with

A crystal clear picture of your personal brand, including what it is and what it is not.

A grasp on writing short and long bios as well as a résumé and fact sheet. You'll understand when to use which brand document and how to systematically update them.

The first steps to take toward public speaking (and stay tuned — a full course exclusively on public speaking will be released by The Inspiration Lab later this year!).

The know-how to identify awards and recognition lists, including how to get nominated and how to write nominations for others.

An actionable plan for how to grow your brand and reach.

An understanding of how to interact with the media and how to identify earned media opportunities, as well as an understanding of the basics of PR.

An understanding of how social media factors into your road map for success and which platforms are best for growing your reach.

These thoughts might be holding you back:

I don’t know how to start.

I don’t like photos or videos of myself.

I don’t want to seem selfish or egocentric.

I don’t know enough people.

I'm not an “expert” in my area of interest.

First off, we’ll show you where to start and how to grow, so you can take that off the list. We’ll help you get more comfortable with the visual side of personal branding with advice from the real world. You can breathe a sigh of relief about not having a big tribe, because as it turns out, you don’t need to know lots of people — you just need to know the right people. We’ll help you identify who they are and how to reach them. Especially in our current pandemic situation, it’s great to know you don’t need a huge budget or to be an established expert to get going. What you do need is a commitment to hard work and a healthy dose of patience for the time it takes to build a meaningful brand. Behind the scenes, I hear from women that they’re worried if they try to build a personal brand, others will think they are selfish, egocentric, or narcissistic. If you’re worried about that too, then our awareness will give you a healthy perspective.

For the most part, this fear is just the voice of resistance trying to talk you out of shining. Trust me, you won’t be able to keep yourself from shining if you are truly and consistently bringing value, joy, inspiration, hope, meaning, fun, or teaching to others. I love the quote, “The universe cannot resist authenticity.” The most successful personal brands are one thing: authentic. Of course there will always be haters — I don’t think you’ve arrived until you’ve had a few! Brené Brown talks extensively about this topic and is a wonderful resource if you struggle with what others think of you (I mean who doesn’t, right?). And lastly, standing out and standing up for something is a good thing. This is otherwise known as leadership and lord knows we need some authentic, strong women to lead us who know who they are and who they aren’t.

You invest in others all the time, don’t you?

Your family. Your kids. Your pets. Your work.

That is great, but you’re missing somebody.

If you don’t invest in yourself, you won’t just naturally keep growing. You could actually wither. So how about investing in yourself for the next few weeks? Commit to growing your brand and your impact on the world. We know you’ll be better for it… and the world will be too!

In return for your investment, you’ll receive five hours of course time, carefully curated resources to dive deeper on topics, a collection of worksheets, checklists and templates, and access to the video replay for two weeks following the course. We are removing the stress and the guesswork to fast-track you to success. Best of all, you’ll leave with a road map to success for your own personal branding journey.

Coaching with Stephanie

Our Personal Branding 101 course lends itself well to one-on-one mentoring with Stephanie, which is something we’re asked about frequently. Due to time constraints, long-term coaching is not something The Inspiration Lab offers, however, Stephanie really wants to dive deeper with those who are ready to truly experience exponential growth.

A very limited amount of one-on-one coaching sessions are available the week of June 22. During a private 45-minute Zoom session with Stephanie, she’ll look over your personal branding, give feedback on areas of strength and opportunities for improvement, generate ideas and brainstorm ideas for growth just for you, and of course answer your personal questions. She will also review your bios, résumé, and/or fact sheet if time permits. You’ll leave feeling encouraged and armed with at least two action items for improvement and at least two action items for continued growth that are specific to you and based on your road map and goals.

A short questionnaire to gather website links, social media handles, and what the participant wants to accomplish will be required to maximize the time of the one-on-one.

For year-round access, advice, guidance, and conversation with Stephanie and Inspiration Lab guest mentors,  we offer a premium Inspi Lab membership.
