And while many of the actions needed to build a recognizable personal brand are free, if you don't have an overall strategy to implement your brand, you won’t get noticed. The world is noisy, and if attention is the new currency, you need a plan to get results. The purpose of The Inspiration Lab’s Personal Branding 101 course is to help women gain recognition and awareness in their current market, open up opportunities for them to share their stories, give them affordable tools to establish and strengthen their brand, and leave them with a road map for future success and continued growth.

Stephanie Lanier

This workshop will be taught by Stephanie Lanier, based on her own experience successfully running Lanier Property Group and The Inspiration Lab and on her studies of fellow successful and well-known women from Wilmington and beyond. Unlike impersonal teaching from a marketing agency or vendor, here you’ll be learning from a peer, a woman who has and will continue to be with you on the journey. She’ll share relatable stories and examples of things that worked, mistakes she’s made (and doesn’t want you to repeat), and secrets to standing out in very competitive industries.

First off, we’ll show you where to start and how to grow, so you can take that off the list. You can breathe a sigh of relief about not having a big tribe, because as it turns out, you don’t need to know lots of people — you just need to know the right people. We’ll help you identify who they are and how to reach them. Especially in our current pandemic situation, it’s great to know you don’t need a huge budget or to be an established expert to get going. What you do need is a commitment to hard work and a healthy dose of patience for the time it takes to build a meaningful brand.

Behind the scenes, I hear from women that they’re worried if they try to build a personal brand, others will think they are selfish, egocentric, or narcissistic. If you’re worried about that too, then our awareness will give you a healthy perspective.

But for the most part, this fear is just the voice of resistance trying to talk you out of shining. Trust us, you won’t be able to keep yourself from shining if you are truly and consistently bringing value, joy, inspiration, hope, meaning, fun, or teaching to others. We love the quote, “The universe cannot resist authenticity.” The most successful personal brands are one thing: authentic. Of course there will always be haters — we don’t think you’ve arrived until you’ve had a few! Brené Brown talks extensively about this topic and is a wonderful resource if you struggle with what others think of you (we mean, who doesn’t, right?). And lastly, standing out and standing up for something is a good thing. This is otherwise known as leadership and lord knows we need some authentic, strong women to lead us who know who they are and who they aren’t.
